How to Backup Your Outlook Emails

As we prepare to migrate your domain and email services, we recommend creating a backup of your Outlook email data before the migration begins. This helps make sure important emails, contacts, and calendar items are safely stored locally in case they are needed later.

Before You Begin:

Please make sure Outlook is installed on your computer and fully synced before starting the backup.

Step 1: Open Outlook

Launch Microsoft Outlook on your computer.

Step 2: Go to File

In the top-left corner of Outlook, click File.

Step 3: Open Export Options

Click Open & Export, then select Import/Export.

Step 4: Choose Export

Select Export to a file, then click Next.

Step 5: Select Outlook Data File

Choose Outlook Data File (.pst), then click Next.

Step 6: Select Your Email Account

Click your email account at the top of the folder list.

Important: Make sure Include subfolders is checked so your Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts, Contacts, and Calendar are included.

Step 7: Choose Backup Location

Click Browse and choose where to save the backup file.

Recommended locations include your Desktop, Documents, an external hard drive, or a cloud storage folder such as OneDrive.

Step 8: Name the Backup File

You can name the file something easy to recognize, such as EmailBackup-May2026.pst, then click Finish.

Step 9: Optional Password Protection

Outlook may ask if you want to add a password. This is optional. You may leave it blank and click OK.

Backup Complete

Your Outlook email backup is now complete. The resulting .PST file contains a copy of your email data and can be imported back into Outlook later if needed.

Please let us know once the backup has been completed so we can proceed with the migration scheduling.
